Phrasal Verbs Lesson: Burn Out #1

Alternative Meaning: When a light stops working.

Example 1:

  • It’s time to change the light bulb because that one is going to burn out soon.
  • It’s time to change the light bulb because that one is going to stop working soon.

Example 2:

  • If you leave your lights on, they will burn out sooner.
  • If you leave your lights on, they will stop working sooner.
